Basketball Game Preview: Bethel Bruins vs. Phoebus Phantoms

Bethel is on a five-game streak of home losses, Phoebus a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The Bethel Bruins will host the Phoebus Phantoms at 7:00 p.m. Both are at an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but likely not for long.

Bethel came up short against Woodside on Tuesday, falling 70-45. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Wolverines are ranked fourth).

Meanwhile, Phoebus ended up a good deal behind Heritage on Tuesday and lost 78-63.

Phoebus' loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Bethel, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Bethel won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, slipping by Phoebus 50-49. Does Bethel have another victory up their sleeve, or will Phoebus turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
