Recap: Hickory Red Tornadoes vs. Huss Huskies
Even though the Huss Huskies scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, the Hickory Red Tornadoes still came out on top. Hickory enjoyed a cozy 78-59 win over Huss. This was payback for Hickory, who suffered a 84-51 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Hickory can attribute much of their success to John Holbrook, who scored 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Izaiah Littlejohn, who scored 16 points.
Huss' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Trimell Dunlap, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals, and Zaiyir 'Zii' Phillips who scored 15 points along with 5 steals. Another player making a difference was Damontia Duff, who scored 9 points along with 3 steals.
Hickory's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Huss, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Hickory will head out on the road to face off against Newton-Conover at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Huss, they will be playing at home against Hickory at 7:30 p.m. on December 7th.
