Football Recap: Payson Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Payson's offense. They had to suffer through a 48-0 loss at the hands of the Pleasant Grove Vikings. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Trevyn Wall threw for 207 yards on 14 of 31 attempts. Carson Finch was his top target, picking up 70 receiving yards. On the ground, Hayden Jarvis rushed for 58 yards.

Pleasant Grove was led to victory by Connor Ybarra and Tavake Wolfgramm. Ybarra rushed for 79 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Wolfgramm gained 132 total yards and a touchdown. Those 79 rushing yards gave Ybarra a new career-high.

Payson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Pleasant Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.

Payson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pleasant Grove, they will host Northridge at 5:00 p.m. on the 24th.
