Volleyball Recap: Scotia-Glenville Takes a Loss

Scotia-Glenville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gloversville Huskies/Dragons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies/Dragons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

Scotia-Glenville started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 16-25, 25-23, 25-15, 15-5.

Gloversville can attribute much of their success to Aaliya Villanueva, who had 18 assists and three aces. Those 18 assists gave Villanueva a new career-high.

Scotia-Glenville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12-1. As for Gloversville, their win ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13-3.

Scotia-Glenville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gloversville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mayfield at 6:00 p.m.
