Basketball Recap: Robinson Rockets vs. China Spring Cougars
Even though the Robinson Rockets have not done well against the China Spring Cougars recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Robinson managed a 36-32 victory over the Cougars. That's another feather in the cap for Robinson, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Trevor Stephens was his usual excellent self, scoring 11 points along with three steals. Evan Moreno was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Robinson and bumps their season record up to 14-16. As for China Spring, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-18 record this season.
Robinson will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Cadets at 7:30 p.m. Connally will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for China Spring, they will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Salado is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
