Recap: Cross Schools Stingrays vs. Beaufort Academy Eagles
The Cross Schools Stingrays put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Beaufort Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 80-41 victory at home. Cross Schools' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Cross Schools' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Genesis Wilson led the charge by scoring 17 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Mayers, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Cross Schools' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.67 points. As for Beaufort Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cross Schools won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Joseph's Catholic at 1:30 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully St. Joseph's Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday. Beaufort Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Hilton Head Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
