Basketball Recap: Texas Lions Homeschool Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

On Tuesday, the Texas Lions HomeSchool Lions narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Kingdom Collegiate Academy 66-64. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Kingdom Collegiate Academy are ranked 401st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Texas Lions HomeSchool's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucas Clark, who went 8-for-14 to rack up 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. That's the most points Clark has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brian Stewart, who went 7-for-13 on his way to 18 points along with five boards and three steals.

Defeat or not, Kingdom Collegiate Academy got some senior leadership from Ethan Evans and Trey Fulcher. Evans almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds, while Fulcher went 9-for-14 en route to 21 points and eight boards. The game was Fulcher's 11th in a row with at least 15 points. Will Hornbuckle was another key player, putting up ten points.

Texas Lions HomeSchool has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 33-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points over those games. As for Kingdom Collegiate Academy, their record now sits at 22-12.

As of now, neither Texas Lions HomeSchool nor Kingdom Collegiate Academy have any future games scheduled.
