Softball Game Preview: Aucilla Christian Warriors vs. Madison County Cowboys

Aucilla Christian hasn't had much luck against Madison County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Warriors will take on the Cowboys at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Aucilla Christian sitting on three straight wins and Madison County on seven.

Aucilla Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They put the hurt on Hamilton County with a sharp 11-1 victory. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Megan Wellman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Harli Ray, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI.

Aucilla Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Madison County had just enough and edged out St. John Paul II 2-1 last Monday.

Madison County pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Aucilla Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.

Aucilla Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Madison County when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cowboys turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
