Softball Recap: Auburn Trojans vs. Bellevue Wolverines        
        
		
            
 Auburn couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell victim to a  tough 37-23 loss at the hands of the Bellevue Wolverines  on Wednesday. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.
  Ryan Truitt led a balanced group of hitters,  going 4-for-5 with four  runs, four  RBI,  and a  double. Another player making a difference was  Jacquelyn Casad, who  went 3-for-5 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and a  stolen base.
 On Bellevue's side,  Ava Teets was a standout: she fired off two  home runs, ten  RBI,  and six  runs while going 5-for-7.  Alexis DeBoer was another key contributor,  firing off two  home runs, six  runs,  and five  RBI while  getting on base  in all seven of her plate appearances.
 Bellevue's win bumped their record up to 2-3.
 Auburn will be playing in front of their home fans against Lynden at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Auburn has given up an average of 37 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Bellevue, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday.
