Softball Recap: Minor Wins Going Away Against Parker

Minor's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Parker Thundering Herd as they made off with a 27-19 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Alana Watkins was a standout: she got on base in five of her seven plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Holly Woodbury, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.

Minor was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parker only posted a batting average of .259.

Minor has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Parker, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minor will head out to take on Jackson-Olin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Parker, they will venture away from home to challenge Carver Montgomery at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Wolverines have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.56 runs per game on average), something the Thundering Herd will no doubt try to take advantage of.
