Volleyball Recap: Waverly Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Waverly waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Kearney Catholic Stars by a score of 2-0. The Vikings were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Stars, so the Vikings were just returning the favor.

Hallie Lauenstein paced Waverly's offense, picking up ten kills. Lauenstein got some help from McKinley Moser and her 27 assists. Moser also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Emmalyn Quinn, each putting up three.

Waverly's victory bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Kearney Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Waverly will take on Hastings at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kearney Catholic, they will face off against Grand Island Central Catholic on Tuesday.
