Softball Recap: Greene Central Takes a Loss

Greene Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 33rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Southside Seahawks, falling 16-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 21-15 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Greene Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Katherine Medlin, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Kryslyn Brock also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Greene Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Southside, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-4 record.

Coming up, Greene Central will be playing at home against Ayden - Grifton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southside, they will face off against John Paul II Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
