Football Recap: Hilliard's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Hilliard had to endure an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Interlachen Rams 32-6 on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Red Flashes needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Despite the defeat, Interlachen saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Myah Vinson rushed for 81 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Vinson got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 56 yards.

The win got Hilliard back to even at 1-1. As for Interlachen, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coming up, Hilliard will square off against Fernandina Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Interlachen will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hilliard at 6:00 p.m. on March 24th.
