Football Game Recap: Smithville vs. Winnetonka

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between Smithville and Winnetonka. Everything came up roses for Smithville against Winnetonka on Friday as the team secured a 48-13 win. That result was just more of the same for Smithville, who also won the last time these teams played.

The matchup started off well for Smithville, whose offense put up 35 first-half points. Winnetonka countered with 7 points, leaving the score at 35-7 going into the half. The Smithville defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the game.

Next week Smithville take on Grandview at 7:00 PM. Those two teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins. As for Winnetonka, they will face off against Platte County. Platte County are cruising in on a four-game winning streak.
