Two weeks ago we unveiled an initial list of 2017 Mr. Football candidates. This week we supply updates on those players and add some more names to the list.

Whoever the 31st annual winner is, their name will join a long list of Ohio prep legends. Former Ohio Mr. Football winners include Charles Woodson (1994), Maurice Clarett (2001), Mitch Trubisky (2012), Andy Katzenmoyer (1995), Curtis Enis (1993), Bobby Hoying (1990) and Robert Smith (1988-89). 2017 Mr. Football Contenders



* Daniel Bangura, Harvest Prep (Canal Winchester), RB
Senior ran for 406 yards and eight touchdowns and threw for a touchdown in a 72-24 win over Fisher Catholic. Has 2,857 yards rushing, 35 touchdowns and 11 two-point conversions (232 points) this season.

* Ra'veion Hargrove, Trotwood-Madison, RB
Senior and Bowling Green recruit carried the ball 13 times for 141 yards (10.8 yards per carry average) and four touchdowns in a 68-21 win over Xenia. Has rushed for 1,467 yards and 23 touchdowns on 109 carries. Averaging 13.5 yards per tote for the undefeated Rams. Has 26 total touchdowns. His career totals in rushing touchdowns (86) and total touchdowns (91) rank 13th and 18th all-time in Ohio history. Has over 6,000 career rushing yards.

* Isaiah Bowser, Sidney, RB
Senior and Northwestern recruit ran for 245 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries in a 55-34 win over Butler. Also completed his lone pass attempt for a 35-yard touchdown. Has 2,213 yards and 24 touchdowns on 276 carries. Also has three touchdown receptions and two touchdown passes.

* Jay Volpenhein, Anderson (Cincinnati), QB
Senior accounted for four touchdowns and four turnovers as the Redskins lost for the first time this season 41-40 to Milford. Completed 31-of-47 passes for 341 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. Also carried the ball 17 times for 102 yards and fumbled once.  On the season has thrown for 3,123 yards and 30 touchdowns and rushed for 894 yards and 13 touchdowns. His 76 career touchdown passes ranks 33rd all-time in Ohio.

* Joey Baughman, Wadsworth, QB
Senior ran for 178 yards and a touchdown and threw for 172 yards and a touchdown as the Grizzlies clinched a share of the Suburban League title and remained unbeaten with a 41-26 win over Brecksville-Broadview Heights. Has accounted for 39 touchdowns this season.

* Mark Waid, Girard, QB
Junior completed 11-of-21 passes for 194 yards and three touchdowns and carried the ball 10 times for 70 yards and two touchdowns as the Indians remained unbeaten with a 55-21 win over LaBrae. Has thrown for 2,404 yards, 28 touchdowns and just two interceptions. Has also rushed for 901 yards and 16 touchdowns.



* Keagan Armitage, Ashland, QB
Senior completed 28-of-39 passes for a school-record 477 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 76 yards and two more scores as the Arrows improved to 8-1 by outlasting West Holmes 49-48. Has completed 137-of-200 passes for 2,168 yards and 22 touchdowns and has rushed for 643 yards and 11 touchdowns.

* Zane Reis, Barberton, QB
Senior completed 16-of-21 passes for 199 yards five touchdowns as the Magics remained unbeaten with a 49-9 win over Kent Roosevelt. Has completed 119-of-159 passes for 1,732 yards, 24 touchdowns and zero interceptions this season. His 71-career touchdown passes rank 40th all-time in Ohio.

* Tadas Tatarunas, Mentor, QB
Senior completed 19-of-29 passes for 423 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions as the Cardinals beat Euclid 61-59 to move to 8-1 and win the Greater Cleveland Conference title. Also ran for a touchdown. Has thrown for 2,356 yards and 22 touchdowns this season. Has also rushed for five touchdowns. Currently has 7,003 career passing yards and 62 touchdown passes. Both tallies rank second in Mentor history behind former Mr. Football winner and current Chicago Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky.

* Rashad Mckee, Wayne (Huber Heights), QB
Junior connected on 21-of-32 passes for 326 yards and four touchdowns in a 28-13 win voer Springfield. Has thrown for 2,309 yards and 21 touchdowns and rushed for 459 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. Wayne is 7-2.

* Chase Wolf, St. Xavier (Cincinnati), QB
Senior and Wisconsin recruit completed 19-of-43 passes for 203 yards, a touchdown and an interception as the Bombers suffered their first loss 28-14 loss to St. Ignatius. Also ran for a touchdown and had a fumble. Has thrown for 1,695 yards and 19 touchdowns (versus two interceptions) this season. Also has four touchdowns rushing.

* Godwin Joe, Brush (Lyndhurst), QB
Senior ran for three touchdowns and threw for one more as the Arcs improved to 7-2, clinched a share of the Western Reserve Conference title and clinched a playoff berth (third in program history) with a 33-22 win over Riverside. Has thrown for 2,161 yards and 24 TDs and rushed for 620 yards and eight touchdowns. Career totals for yards and touchdowns are 5,796 and 58, respectively.



* KJ Price, London, RB
Junior scored three TDs and surpassed 2,000 yards rushing for the season in 38-0 win over Bexley. Has rushed for 24 touchdowns on season for 8-1 Red Raiders.

* Jayden Cunningham, University School (Hunting Valley), QB
Senior and Youngstown State recruit ran for four touchdowns in a 38-21 win over Garfield Heights. Has accounted for 30 touchdowns this season (17 passing, 13 rushing).

Newcomers

* Kolston Brewster, Perry, QB
Senior improved to 19-0 as a starter in the regular season by completing 15-of-27 passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-7 win over West Geauga. Has completed 142-of-207 passes for 2,114 yards, 26 touchdowns and just three interceptions this season for the undefeated Pirates.

* Jornell Manns II, Mansfield Senior, RB
Senior and Minnesota recruit ran for career-high 256 yards and two touchdowns on 33 carries in a 44-16 win over Mount Vernon. Has scored 29 touchdowns this season four different ways – rushing, receiving, punt return and interception return. Converted wide receiver has over 1,000 career yards rushing and receiving (1,600-plus).

* Andrew Newsom, Tri-Valley (Dresden), QB
Senior has accounted for 36 touchdowns (21 passing 15 rushing) en route to leading the Scotties to an 8-1 record. Has completed 99-of-150 passes for 1,487 yards and only three interceptions. Has also rushed for 708 yards on 135 carries. Has seen limited second-half action.
