Softball Recap: Puyallup Wins Going Away Against Fife

Puyallup got themselves on the board against Fife on Friday, but Fife never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Trojans. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Kiera Thomas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other pitching news, Kelsey Brown looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Kayla Ringenbach, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Paisley Jamison also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Puyallup kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Puyallup now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Fife, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Puyallup will venture away from home to challenge Bonney Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.89 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fife, they will head out on the road to square off against Washington at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
