Soccer Game Preview: Maywood CES vs. Warren

The Maywood CES Wolfpack and the Warren Bears will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

If Warren heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Maywood CES took over last week. Maywood CES beat Dr. Maya Angelou Community by a goal, winning 2-1. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Wolfpack's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Phoenix are ranked 31st).

Mohamad Hijazi and David Espinoza scored both of Maywood CES's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Meanwhile, Warren has been struggling as of late, and they have yet to win a game this season. They and Sunny Hills finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Warren's draw gives them a new season record of 0-3-2. As for Maywood CES, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
