Chugiak has gone 8-1 against Bartlett recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Mustangs will face off against the Golden Bears at 1:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chugiak has three straight victories, Bartlett has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Chugiak is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Palmer, who was ranked ninth at the time (Chugiak was ranked fifth). The Mustangs skirted past the Moose 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since May 19, 2025.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Bartlett and Service meet (six straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Golden Bears came up short against the Cougars, falling 20-2.

Bartlett saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Butcher, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That hit was Butcher's first of the season.

Bartlett's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Chugiak, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.

Bartlett's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chugiak hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. It's a different story for Bartlett, though, as they've only averaged .100. Will they be able to contain Chugiak's hitters?

Chugiak got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April against Bartlett by a conclusive 16-4 score. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Golden Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
