Softball Recap: Scurry-Rosser Wildcats vs. Rice Bulldogs
Scurry-Rosser posted their closest win since February 17th on Friday. They skirted past the Rice Bulldogs 8-7. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Madison Lumpkin made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaycee Rhoades, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alanah Greene, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
