Basketball Recap: Marshalltown Comes Up Short

Marshalltown lost against Des Moines North back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Marshalltown Bobcats took a blow against the Des Moines North Polar Bears, falling 72-43. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Polar Bears are ranked 88th).

Marshalltown's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Des Moines North, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Marshalltown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-46 loss against Lincoln on the 11th. As for Des Moines North, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 52-50 victory against Waterloo East on the 11th.
