Baseball Recap: Life Christian Academy Triumphs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Life Christian Academy had no problem doing just that on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Amelia Academy Patriots. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Gavin Spiegel looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Josiah Glance and Aden Reynolds did most of the damage at the plate: Glance went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Reynolds went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Life Christian Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Amelia Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Life Christian Academy has already played their next matchup, an 11-4 victory against Kenston Forest on the 15th. Amelia Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
