Softball Recap: Dillon Christian Takes a Loss

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Dillon Christian nor Pee Dee Academy made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Warriors came up short against the Golden Eagles, falling 7-0. The Warriors have struggled against the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Lilli Shooter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

Dillon Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Pee Dee Academy, the win (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 20-1.

Dillon Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pee Dee Academy, they will face off against Laurence Manning Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Swampcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Golden Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
