Softball Recap: Crockett County Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Crockett County's offense. They came up short against the Athens Golden Eagles on Friday, falling 8-0. The shutout was out of character for the Cavaliers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Crockett County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Piper White, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Crockett County has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-7 record this season. As for Athens, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 23-12.

Crockett County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-1 win against Columbia Central on the 19th. As for Athens, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-2 victory against Lexington on the 19th.
