South Panola and Neshoba Central squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but South Panola had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 7-6. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their 20-game winning streak.

Kailey McKinney was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Heafner, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

South Panola's defeat dropped their record down to 30-3. As for Neshoba Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season.

While South Panola had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
