Basketball Game Preview: Spencerport Rangers vs. Pittsford Panthers

The Spencerport Rangers will challenge the Pittsford Panthers at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Spencerport will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Brockport, who they had gone 0-7 against in their seven prior meetings. Spencerport walked away with a 49-40 win over Brockport on Thursday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Rangers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 103rd).

Meanwhile, Pittsford entered their tilt with Webster Thomas on Thursday with six consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with seven. Everything went their way against the Titans as they made off with a 71-47 win. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 23 points or more this season.

Pittsford's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.8 points. As for Spencerport, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season.

Spencerport came up short against Pittsford when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 53-41. Can Spencerport avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
