Softball Recap: Tunkhannock Beats Elk Lake for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Tunkhannock put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Elk Lake Warriors a 10-0 shutout. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by ten runs or more this season.

Erin Van Ness was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Emily Patton also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Tunkhannock's record is now 4-0. As for Elk Lake, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tunkhannock will challenge Crestwood at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Comets have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Elk Lake, they will head out to challenge Mountain View at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Warriors their first taste of in-conference action this season.
