Soccer Recap: Clay-Chalkville Takes a Loss

Clay-Chalkville entered their game against Gardendale on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Clay-Chalkville Cougars came up short against the Gardendale Rockets, falling 8-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 8-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Their goal came courtesy of Juan Rodriguez, who's now up to three this season.

Clay-Chalkville's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Gardendale, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Clay-Chalkville face off against Pell City at 7:00 p.m. on April 2nd. As for Gardendale, they will square off against Pinson Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
