Greater South Shore recap Oct. 23, 2012

Whiting extended the longest winning streak in Greater South Shore this week by beating South Central, 33-12. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Oilers.

Whiting's AJ Veloz and Patrick Petruf have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Veloz has thrown for 1922 yards this season, while Petruf, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 42 catches for 973 yards. North Newton's Chad Schultz leads the league in rushing yards with 1206.

Jeff Cain's team's Veloz is within 78 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against West Central.

The Oilers' Petruf is only 27 receiving yards away from breaking 1,000 receiving yards this season as he enters this week's game against the the Trojans.

Bishop Noll led the league in scoring this week after putting up 35 points on South Newton.
