RHAM faced Simsbury in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Raptors fell 3-1 to the Trojans. The Raptors' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

While RHAM had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-23, 22-25, 25-18.

When it comes to explaining why RHAM lost, don't look at Sami DeGray. Despite the final result, she had 24 digs and one assist. DeGray has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more digs the last three times she's played. Brooke Arcari also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

RHAM's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Simsbury, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
