Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Joseph). Their defense stepped up to hand the Martin Luther Spartans a 9-0 shutout on Wednesday. Andres Gamez was a massive factor in the win as he booted in six goals all by himself.

The victory made it two in a row for St. Joseph and bumps their season record up to 5-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Martin Luther, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Looking ahead, St. Joseph will challenge Shoreland Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Martin Luther, they are taking a road trip to face off against East Troy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
