Basketball Game Preview: Pleasantville Trojans vs. Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Rockets

Pleasantville hasn't had much luck against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Pleasantville Trojans will head out to challenge the Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Rockets. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Pleasantville got the win against Van Buren County by a conclusive 60-38. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Meanwhile, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Pekin 72-32. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Panthers are ranked 275th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-0. As for Pleasantville, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.

Pleasantville was dealt a bruising 65-37 defeat at the hands of Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can Pleasantville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
