Mancos faced Sanford in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Bluejays were dealt a 42-14 defeat at the hands of the Mustangs. The Bluejays were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-8.

Although Mancos took the loss, they still got scores from Jonah H Ritter and James Potts.

Mancos moved to 5-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Sanford, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
