Basketball Recap: Dexter Comes Up Short

Dexter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Cobre Indians, falling 69-31. The Demons lost against the Indians in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 53-49 score last time.

Cobre's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zavin Guck, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Guck's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Nashaun Parker was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Dexter's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Cobre, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Dexter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 49-34 loss against Chaparral on the 7th. As for Cobre, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-46 win against Lordsburg on the 7th.
