Volleyball Recap: Pine Grove Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Pine Grove was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Biggersville on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers came up short against the East Union Urchins on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Panthers have struggled against the Urchins recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Pine Grove was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-23, 25-18.

Pine Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 21-11-2. As for East Union, they pushed their record up to 30-4 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home.

Pine Grove and East Union should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings. The Panthers (ranked 48th) will meet Ashland (ranked 184th) at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, East Union will challenge Baldwyn at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (12 vs. 101).
