Gilford faced Hanover in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Golden Eagles lost 3-0 to the Bears. The Golden Eagles' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

While Gilford was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-8, 25-22.

Hanover was led to victory by Sage Farger and Bella Poisson. Farger had 24 assists and three digs, while Poisson had nine kills and four digs. Those nine kills gave Poisson a new career-high.

Gilford's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Hanover, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.
