Volleyball Recap: Lincolnview Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hicksville on Saturday, Lincolnview came back down to earth. The Lancers fell just short of the Bluffton Pirates by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Lancers haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Lincolnview took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-21, 15-10.

Despite the defeat, Lincolnview saw an underclassman step up: freshman MaKayla Marsee had six digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Marsee.

Leading Bluffton to victory were Vanessa Cross and Adelyn Althaus. Cross had 15 digs and three aces, while Althaus had 17 assists and six digs. The dominant performance also gave Cross a new career-high in assists (seven).

Lincolnview's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Bluffton, their record now sits at 13-7.

Lincolnview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Columbus Grove on the 2nd. As for Bluffton, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Spencerville on the 2nd.
