The Lincoln Fighting Zebras will face off against the Wheatland Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lincoln 2.8, Wheatland 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Lincoln took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Valley Christian. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Zebras, who have now won 11 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Anthony Jackson looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had over his last four contests.

At the plate, Landyn Plaut was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Aiden Maul was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Lincoln kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Wheatland and Bear River finished up their game with a 5-5 draw on Friday.
Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. Wheatland's draw makes their record 14-7-1 this season.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lincoln hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like Wheatland struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lincoln skirted past Wheatland 5-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2021. Will the Fighting Zebras repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
