Football Recap: Damian Dickenson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Western over Coconut Creek + How To Watch

Western lost against Coconut Creek back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wildcats fell 28-16 to the Cougars.

Western's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Damian Dickenson, who rushed for 92 yards and one touchdown.

Coconut Creek got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Josiah Sanchious out in front who threw for 129 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten passes, and also rushed for 44 yards and one score. Cayden Delions was another key player, gaining 188 total yards.

Western's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Coconut Creek, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Western is taking a road trip to face off against St. Thomas Aquinas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Coconut Creek, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Deerfield Beach at 7:00 p.m. The game will give the Cougars their first taste of in-conference action this season.
