Baseball Game Preview: Tomah Timberwolves vs. Onalaska Hilltoppers

Tomah hasn't had much luck against Onalaska recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Timberwolves will face off against the Hilltoppers at 4:30 p.m.

Tomah is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They lost 9-2 to Holmen. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Timberwolves couldn't push the score so high this time.

Onalaska came out on top against Reedsburg on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Hilltoppers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Beavers.

Tyler Kowal made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kowal was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bradyn Delong, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season.

Onalaska has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Tomah, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Tomah came out on top in a nail-biter against Onalaska in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Do the Timberwolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hilltoppers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
