Baseball Recap: Wells Leopards vs. Laughlin Cougars
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Wells and Laughlin meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Wells Leopards put the hurt on the Laughlin Cougars with a sharp 10-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Leopards, who have now won three matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Adam Eggleston and Raleigh Groves did most of the damage at the plate: Eggleston scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Groves scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Eggleston a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Tristen Zimmerman, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Wells' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-2.
Looking ahead, Wells will be taking part in a tournament against Tonopah at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Wells knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Tonopah likes a good challenge. Laughlin will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Needles at 1:00 p.m. on April 1st.
