Football Game Preview: Friday Harbor Wolverines vs. Blaine Borderites + How To Watch

The Friday Harbor Wolverines will square off against the Blaine Borderites at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Friday Harbor is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Granite Falls on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Wolverines were beaten by the Tigers 48-19. The Wolverines were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

Friday Harbor's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jackson Feliz, who threw for 133 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Channing Kleine, who picked up 97 receiving yards and two scores. Feliz's passing game has become a key predictor of the Wolverines' success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Blaine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 52-22 loss at the hands of Nooksack Valley. While losing is never fun, the Borderites can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Pioneers are ranked 71st).

Friday Harbor's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Blaine, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Friday Harbor suffered a grim 36-13 defeat to Blaine in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Wolverines were down 22-0.
