Bishop Shanahan took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Oxford, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Hornets 4-3 on Thursday. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 11-5 win the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Hailey Shapiro spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Emma Bush was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Mikayla Palantino, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Bishop Shanahan and bumps their season record up to 7-14. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Oxford, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Shanahan will host Great Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Oxford, they will welcome Chichester at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
