Soccer Game Preview: St. Clair County vs. Hokes Bluff

The St. Clair County Fighting Saints will head out on the road to face off against the Hokes Bluff Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

St. Clair County can't be to happy about their upcoming road match considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Friday. They came up short against Clay-Chalkville, falling 6-0. The Fighting Saints have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Hokes Bluff took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They put the hurt on Talladega with a sharp 4-1 win. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Eagles were the better team in the second half.

They hit Talladega with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Brayden Fox (2), Cashus Hannah, and Lucas Applegate.

St. Clair County suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Hokes Bluff when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Can St. Clair County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
