Basketball Game Preview: Creek Valley Storm vs. Garden County Eagles

Creek Valley is 2-8 against Garden County since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Creek Valley Storm will look to defend their home court against the Garden County Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Creek Valley's tournament run continued when they took on Leyton on Saturday. Creek Valley fell 56-45 to Leyton. That's two games in a row now that the Storm have lost by exactly 11 points.

Despite their loss, Creek Valley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Lane Brenneman, who went 8 for 18 en route to 20 points and eight boards, was perhaps the best of all. That was a full 44.4% of Creek Valley's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Mason Timm was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks.

Even though they lost, Creek Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Garden County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 42-37 to South Platte. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Garden County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Creek Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
