With a playoff win on the line, Sulphur Springs rose to the challenge on Thursday. Everything went their way against Godley as they made off with a 7-0 win. Considering Sulphur Springs has won 16 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Hannah Speed, who gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Godley off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Allison Frazier, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Shaelee Friddle was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

The victory was the tenth in a row for Sulphur Springs, bringing their record up to 27-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Godley, they moved to 27-7 with that defeat, which also ended their 12-game winning streak.

Sulphur Springs will have a chance to go back-to-back against Godley: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Friday.
