Maddox Maples tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Carter Stephens was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. West Morgan is undefeated when Stephens posts two or more runs, but 6-12 otherwise. Titan Partlow was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

West Morgan has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Good Hope, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: West Morgan beat the Raiders by a score of 12-8 on Thursday.
