Baseball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Centennial took on La Salle on Wednesday. The Eagles took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Connor Martin was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, Centennial saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Welsick, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for La Salle, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season.
