Basketball Game Preview: Cottondale Hornets vs. Liberty County Bulldogs

Cottondale is 2-8 against Liberty County since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cottondale Hornets will square off against the Liberty County Bulldogs. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with 11 losses in a row dating back to last season, Cottondale turned things around against Vernon on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Yellowjackets by a score of 26-16.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Liberty County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They took down Wewahitchka 45-28 on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Cottondale better focus on containing Kaylee Sexton and Haven Davis as the pair were huge in Liberty County's win. Sexton posted 14 points, while Davis earned 13 points.

The win got Liberty County back to even at 8-8. As for Cottondale, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

Cottondale was taken down by Liberty County 52-20 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Cottondale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
