Softball Game Preview: Marysville Vikings vs. Utica Ford Falcons

The Marysville Vikings are taking a road trip to face off against the Utica Ford Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Marysville is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Fraser just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Ramblers by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Vikings have suffered since April 9, 2024.

Meanwhile, Utica Ford entered their tilt with Regina on Friday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They put the hurt on Regina with a sharp 10-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Utica Ford's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-7-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Marysville, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.

Marysville was able to grind out a solid win over Utica Ford when the teams last played back in April of 2018, winning 6-1. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
