The Elkhart Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Penn Kingsmen at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Elkhart is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

On Saturday, Elkhart earned an 8-4 win over Northridge.

Greg Guest made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Brady Sherwood was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Max Shreiner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Penn faced Andrean in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Kingsmen fell 9-5 to the Fighting 59ers. The Kingsmen have struggled against the Fighting 59ers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Elkhart's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-4. As for Penn, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-1.

Elkhart couldn't quite get it done against Penn when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-0. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
